David Russell Snyder, Sr.

David Russell Snyder, Sr., 101, of Abington, PA passed away on October 17, 2024 with his children by his side.

He was born on July 12, 1923 in Elkins Park, PA, a son of the late Maurice and Lena Black Snyder.

Shortly after graduating from Cheltenham High School, Dave joined the Navy and served on the USS Sumter during WWII in the Pacific arena. Upon his return from the war, he met his future wife Mary Lou Esmond to whom he was married for 75 blessed years.

Dave is survived by his son David (Gina) Snyder, Jr.; daughter Mary Louise (Todd, Sr.) Melisauskas; three grandchildren, Samantha Snyder, David Snyder, III, and Todd Melisauskas, Jr.; brother William Snyder, Sr., and sister Irene Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Lou; brother Maurice Monroe Snyder; and sister Martha Vaughn.

Having lived a full life that lasted over a century, Dave made this world a better place for the many lives he touched.
