David R. "Davey" Newell, Jr.

David R. “Davey” Newell, Jr., 42, of Orrstown, passed away unexpectedly the evening of Sunday, September 1, 2024.

He was born on November 1, 1981 in Chambersburg, a son of David R. Newell, Sr. and Rindi L. Thrush Dellinger.

Davey was a 1999 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School, member of the Walnut Bottom Rod & Gun Club, and was employed at The Manitowoc Company in Shady Grove. He enjoyed shooting pool and riding his motorcycle. 

In addition to his father, David R. (Mary) Newell, Sr. of Shippensburg and mother, Rindi L. (Jeff) Dellinger of Newburg, he is survived by one son, Neven Newell of Duncannon; companion, Rita Sarver of Orrstown; three siblings, Wayland (Katie) Stouffer of Amberson, Jeremy (Stacey) Stouffer of Newburg, and Amanda Martin of Etters; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per Davey’s request, there will be no public viewing or visitation. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at the Walnut Bottom Rod & Gun Club, 13 Pine Road, Walnut Bottom, PA 17266.
