David West Martin, 84, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born on July 8, 1936, in Shippensburg, the son of the late Ruben K. and Mary (West) Martin. David married Blanche Almeda Mastalski on August 4, 1983, in Alabama.
David worked for AT&T Bell Laboratories in New Jersey for thirty-seven years, retiring as a Lab Technician in 1989. He was a former member of the Shippensburg Historical Society for over twenty years. In his free time, David enjoyed computers and coin collecting.
In addition to his wife of thirty-seven years, Almeda, he is survived by three step-sons, Sherman E. Stark of Fletcher, NC, Mark E. Stark of Fayetteville, TN, and Roy A. Stark and wife Kari of Parsippany, NJ; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lois Burkholder.
His funeral arrangements, entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, will be private. David will be laid to rest in the Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Historical Society at 52 West King Street Shippensburg, PA 17257.
