Daniel G. “Danny” Laughlin, 78, of Newburg, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Friday, December 19, 1947 in Newburg, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Hughie D. and Dorothy M. Dunlap Laughlin.
He was a 1967 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. Daniel worked as a Driver Salesman for Miller & Reed Dairy, Shippensburg, the Pepsi-Cola Co., Newville, and retired in 2012 from Martin’s Famous Pastry Shoppe, Chambersburg.
Daniel was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville. He was a life member of the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company # 51, Newburg Fire Police, and the Orrstown Lodge #262 F.& A.M.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, archery hunting, fishing, and baseball. Daniel loved and cherished his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara M. (Zinn) Laughlin, whom he married March 17, 1968; one daughter, Lori L. Laughlin, Shippensburg; one son, Daniel G. (Tamie) Laughlin II, Newville; three grandchildren, Lee Daniel (Nellie), Josh L. and Scott A. Davidson, all of Shippensburg; one brother, Lee Laughlin, Newburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Chamberlin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Green Spring First Church of God, with Pastor Dick Reese, Pastor Richard Frederick, and Pastor C. Walter Hock officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg-Hopewell Volunteer Fire Company, 121 Lover’s Lane, Newburg, PA 17240.
