Charles E. “Chuck” Russell, 77, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Monday, August 17, 2026, at the Shippensburg Health Care Center.

He was born on November 17, 1948 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Edward and Katherine (Varner) Russell.

Chuck was a graduate of Shippensburg Senior High School and retired from Letterkenny Army Depot as a mechanic. He was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War era. Chuck was a member of the Hub City Club and life member of the VFW Post #6168, both in Shippensburg.

Chuck enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially mowing his grass on his John Deere tractor, and hunting. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband who cherished his wife and was always there to care for and support her.

He is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Davis) Russell of Shippensburg; two children, Steven Russell and wife Kelly, and Christy Briggs and husband Steve, all of Shippensburg; and four grandchildren, Taylor Schall and husband Jonah, Tanyia Ross and husband Matt, Kaylee Russell, and Megan Briggs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Nickey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Rev. Harold E. Yeager officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery with military honors conducted by The Minutemen of the American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
