Charles L. Clevenger, 79, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born on August 22, 1946 in Grand Junction, Colorado, the son of the late John Warren and Betty Lorraine (Johnson) Clevenger. He married June L. Sailhamer on August 31, 1968.
Charles was a 1965 graduate of Grand Junction High School in Rifle, CO. He proudly earned a two-year Industrial Electronic Degree and received his FCC license. Charles was a United States Navy Veteran, who served during the Vietnam War Era. As a radioman 2nd class, he was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Wright – home port in Norfolk, VA from 1965 to 1969. Charles retired from Shippensburg University as an electronics technician and was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, and loved his wife and son dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June L. Clevenger of Shippensburg; one son, Todd Clevenger of Shippensburg; one grandson, Tyler L. Clevenger and his fiancé Madison Hershey of Shippensburg; and one sister, Marilyn K. McCoy of Oregon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Rodney Bistline officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by The Minutemen of the American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
