Carl Lee Mixell, 63, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Monday, February 16, 2026 at the Chambersburg Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on March 31, 1962 in McConnellsburg, a son of the late Lester Dale Mixell, Sr. and Betty J. Piper Radabaugh.
Carl worked as a welder at Grove Manufacturing. He was a member of the American Legion Post #223, VFW Post #6168, Minnequa Social Club, Hub City Club, and Loyal Order of Moose #2500, all in Shippensburg. Carl also attended Greenvillage First Church of God. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed trapping in his younger years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, a collector of all “things,” and overall enjoyed living life to the fullest.
He is survived by one son, Vincent “Vinny” (Tiffany) Partica of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Diora Partica; three siblings, Charles “Billy” (Donna) Grove of Newburg, Roger (Pam) Boher of Towanda, and Kathy (Ronald) Ganoe of Greencastle; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Cosmo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Lester D. Mixell, Jr., Kenneth E. Mixell, Robert Boher, and Richard Boher; nephew, Aaron Ganoe; and great-niece, Elizabeth Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Mr. Duane Clever officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
