Beverly J. "Bev" Worthington

Beverly J. “Bev” Worthington, 73, of Shippensburg, formerly of St. Thomas, passed away the evening of Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born on January 24, 1953 in Shade Gap, a daughter of the late Wallace N. and Geraldine (Bair) Locke.

Bev was a 1970 graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School. She married Eugene W. “Pete” Worthington on November 4, 1972. Together, they traveled to all 50 states, collecting cups and saucers from each state. They also dedicated over 20 years to fostering children.

She was a member of Lockes Red Hat Society. She enjoyed auto and drag racing, as well as watching soap operas, especially Days of Our Lives. Bev also loved listening to oldies and country music.

In addition to her husband of 53 ½ years, Eugene W. “Pete” Worthington, she is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Neidigh and husband Shawn of Shippensburg; two siblings, Sharron Locke and wife Mitzi, and Laverne Sheffield, all of Shade Gap; numerous nieces and nephews; and six fur babies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Worthington; and one brother, Larry Locke.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Per Bev’s wishes, there will be no public viewing, visitation, or service.
