Betty J. Railing, 91, a resident of the Shook Home, Chambersburg, departed this life on the evening of Monday, October 11, 2021.
She was born on November 25, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles D. and Elizabeth J. (Paxton) Stuck. Betty married Frank A. Railing on August 3, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1988. She was a 1948 graduate of Shippensburg Senior High School, Shippensburg, PA.
Betty worked as a Systems Analyst at the Letterkenny Army Depot for thirty years. She was a longtime member of the Chambersburg Bible Church and was a very involved parishioner, serving in many capacities. In her free time, Betty enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling.
She is survived by three sons, Frank A. Railing, Jr., of Downingtown, Fred E. Railing and wife Sabrina of Fleetwood, and David L. Railing and wife Ann Marie of Broad Run, VA; one daughter, Linda A. Logsdon of Chambersburg; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Susan Railing; a granddaughter, Sabrina Marie Railing; and her sister, Anna Mary Shetter.
Her graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. The Reverend Gary Yoder will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chambersburg Bible Church.
