Baylie Jade Oberholtzer

Our precious daughter, Baylie Jade, was born to us, Michael and Emily Oberholtzer, on April 25, 2018. We were overjoyed to welcome a baby girl into our family, but it soon became clear that God had entrusted us with a very special angel. When Baylie was eight months old she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease that brought many cognitive and physical challenges. Despite these difficulties, Baylie's life was a beautiful gift, and she touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.

In the last year or two, Baylie’s health slowly declined. God knew the perfect time to take her home, and on August 7, 2026, Baylie peacefully left us and gained her Angel wings. We look forward to seeing her free from pain and running on the streets of Heaven someday.

Our world revolved around Baylie and the love and care she needed each day. We lived for her bright smiles and laughter, quickly learning her likes and dislikes. Baylie’s brothers loved her dearly, and she soaked up all the attention they gave her. Often, they were able to bring out a smile when no one else could. She enjoyed listening to singing and familiar voices, usually giving a big smile when a voice message of someone she loved was being played. Baylie also loved to be outside. She would spend hours relaxing on her beanbag, or we would take her on bike rides and walks around the neighborhood. Though Baylie's time with us was short, the love she gave will remain with us forever. She taught us so much about unconditional love, patient endurance, and trusting God. we will carry her beautiful smile in our hearts and thank God for the precious gift of being her family.

We would especially like to thank Baylie’s caregivers, our church family, and friends for the loving care and encouragement they provided alongside us. We are also grateful to her exceptional hospice team for the compassionate support they gave us throughout the last three years.

Left to cherish the memories she gave us are her parents, Michael and Emily Oberholtzer and her brothers, Hunter and Hudson all of Shippensburg, PA. Her paternal grandparents Reuben and Minerva Oberholtzer, Shippensburg, PA and her maternal grandparents John and Rochelle Jantz, Neodesha, KS. She was also loved by her many uncles, aunts and cousins who will deeply miss her.

She was preceded in death by her uncle Eddie Martin.

Baylie’s funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Living Faith Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 297 Goodhart Rd., Shippensburg with church ministry officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at the church.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg.
