Alberta May Pensinger

Alberta May “Bertie” Rosbach Cressler Pensinger, 82, of Shippensburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 28, 2025 as a result of an automobile accident.

Born Monday, May 25, 1942 in Estella, Sullivan County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Hartford Leroy Rosbach and Edna Gertrude Weaver Rosbach.

Alberta retired in 2004 from The Beistle Company in Shippensburg, with 42 years of service.

She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Christian Missionary Alliance Church and the Minnequa Social Club, both in Shippensburg.

She was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. She was an animal lover, and a big supporter of the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, and Chambersburg Animal Hospital.

Alberta celebrated 39 years of marriage to Allen Richard “Red” Pensinger, whom she married November 10, 1985.

Alberta is survived by one step-son, Charles N. “Charlie” (Laura) Pensinger; and two step-grandsons, Allen J. Pensinger and Alex Rader, all of Shippensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Joseph Cressler, who passed away October 10, 1982; three sisters, Esther Rubia, Jean Rosbach, and Marion Shimko; and two brothers, Hartford Rosbach, and Walt “Troop” Rosbach.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with The Rev. Reuben Coldsmith officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
